Celebrate Money Smart Week @ Your Library:
Financing a College Education: How to Lower Your Costs
Monday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m.
Bill Bianchi from the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority will provide high school students and their parents a wealth of information about how to obtain funds for higher education through grants, scholarships and loans.

Travel the USA on $130 a Day
Tuesday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m.
Learn how a family of four spent $130 a day on gas, meals, park entrance fees, and trip extras, seeing the sights and sleeping in their camper.

Ponaganset High School Art Honor Society Show
Monday, May 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Enjoy the work by Ponaganset High School Art Honor Society students. These honor students will exhibit their work in the Community Room beginning May 13.

An Evening with the Author: Cynthia Rudolph Barlow
Tuesday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m.
Meet the author of the middle grade fantasy, Theo's Mythic, as she discusses and signs copies of her book.

Friends of the Harmony Library Book Sale
Friday, May 31, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Support the Harmony Library programs while finding great book bargains.


Children's Programs

Spring Story Time
January 21 – May 23
oin Miss Allison for fun, interactive, and creative story times that will delight and encourage your child to be ready for school. Call for available spaces.

  • Toddler Time: Tuesdays, 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. (Ages 2-3.5 years and their parent/guardian)
    (Ages 2 - 3½ years and their parent/guardian)
    Join Miss Allison for a half hour of stories, flannel board activities, and finger plays.
     
  • Tiny Tots: Thursdays, 11 a.m.
    (ages 8 months to 2 years and their parent/guardian)
    Join Miss Allison for the essential early learning practices of finger plays, nursery rhymes, songs, and board books. Exploratory social play follows each story time.
     
  • Preschool and Kindergarten: Special Event
    (ages 3½ to 5)
    Thursday, April 4, at 10 a.m.
    Join Miss Allison to listen to: Baseball Stories for Opening Day.

Be-Dazzled Designer Workshop
Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m.
Children in grades 3 and up are invited to make designer creations each week from everyday items. Participants must provide their own sneakers and tee shirt. Call the library or email nancysteereya@gmail.com to register.

The weekly creations include:

  • May 7 – sneakers
  • May 14 – tee shirts
  • May 21 – personal "me" box

After School Club – Celebrate Spring with Herbs
Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.
Celebrate spring planting herbs and using them for tasty, health snacks. Participants get a free cookbook containing all the recipes. This club is for children in grades 2-5.

Trace your family tree using a variety of online resources.

Beginner's Guide to Online Genealogy
Thursday, May 2, at 1:30 p.m.
Learn how to search for your ancestors using HeritageQuest, Ancestry Library Edition, and other online resources.

Medicare Workshop
Monday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m.
Nancy Mendizabal of United Health will discuss Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplements, and Part D plans.

Got Compost? Beautiful Gardens Do!
Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m.
Master Gardener Rusty Morrow will guide you through the steps of setting up and maintaining a compost pile or bin. This program will conclude with a question and answer period.

Fiction Writers Group
Thursday, May 9, at 6 p.m.
Share short excerpts of your original work, get tips on the writing life, and receive feedback from fellow writers. This group is open to adults, 21 years and older.

Memoir Writers Group
Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m.
Learn how to craft your personal story through this monthly workshop. Beginners are welcome.

Learn how to use your Nook to borrow e-books from the Ocean State Libraries.

Media Wednesday – Microsoft PowerPoint
Wednesday, May 15, at 6 p.m.
Learn the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint and create a short slide show.

Media Wednesday – Microsoft Word Basics
Wednesday, May 22, at 6 p.m.
Learn how to write, edit, and send a letter as an email attachment.

Media Wednesday – Kindle Workshop
Wednesday, May 29, at 6 p.m.
Learn how to use your Kindle to borrow eBooks from the Ocean State Libraries.
